Welcome to Back to Basics Kids Learning School, an extension of the Back to Basics 4 Life Wellness Hub. We created this program because we believe childhood should be filled with curiosity, creativity, movement, meaningful relationships and a genuine love of learning.

In a world where families often feel rushed and children are exposed to constant distractions, our vision is to provide a calm, supportive environment where they can focus on the foundations that matter most—learning, character, confidence, kindness, resilience and healthy development.

About us

Small classes.
Big hearts.
Real learning.

Our program encourages children to spend time outdoors, move their bodies, explore their creativity, build practical life skills and develop meaningful friendships within a safe, small-group environment. We believe children thrive when they are encouraged to learn, ask questions, solve problems, respect others and enjoy being children.

At Back to Basics Kids Learning School, our focus remains on education, personal growth and age-appropriate development. Every session is designed to support children academically, socially, emotionally and physically in a positive and respectful learning environment.

Most importantly, we want families to feel supported too. By creating a welcoming community where parents can connect, share experiences and grow alongside their children, we’re building much more than a learning program—we’re building a community.

Why Families Choose Us

Small class.
Big impact.

Parents choose Back to Basics Kids Learning School because we offer more than a weekly class. We provide a safe, nurturing environment where children are genuinely known, encouraged and supported by experienced educators who value each child’s individual journey.

Our intentionally small class sizes allow us to build meaningful relationships, adapt learning experiences to suit different personalities and create an environment where every child has the opportunity to grow in confidence.

Our Philosophy

Small classes.
Big hearts.
Real learning.

Our approach combines inspiration from Montessori principles, Steiner education and our own Back to Basics philosophy. We believe children
learn best when they are free to explore, create, move, ask questions, solve problems, build confidence, form respectful friendships. Learning should be engaging, practical and enjoyable.

Every activity has been designed to encourage curiosity while supporting emotional wellbeing, resilience and healthy development.

Meet Our Learning School Team

Experienced educators passionate
about helping children thrive

At Back to Basics 4 Kids Learning School, we believe young children learn best when they feel safe, supported, understood and encouraged to explore at their own pace.

Our Learning School Program is supported by the experienced team at Back to Basics 4 Life Wellness Hub, bringing together qualified educators, teachers, teacher’s aides and team members experienced in supporting children of different abilities, personalities and developmental stages.

Each Learning School session will always include a qualified educator or teacher alongside a supporting team member or teacher’s aide, helping us maintain the small, nurturing and hands-on environment that is so important during the early years.

With a maximum of just six children per class, our team can genuinely get to know each child, recognise their individual strengths and provide encouragement and guidance as they learn, play and grow.

Meet Lauren

Therapeutic Program LeaderBehavioural TherapistCounsellorEducator

Lauren brings a unique combination of experience across behavioural therapy, counselling and education to her role as Therapeutic Program Leader at Back to Basics 4 Life Wellness Hub.

Working with children, teenagers and adults, Lauren takes the time to understand the person behind the behaviour. Her approach looks beyond what is happening on the surface to explore emotional regulation, behaviour, confidence, communication, relationships and the challenges that may be impacting everyday life.

With her background as an educator, counsellor and behavioural therapist, Lauren is able to bring together different areas of knowledge to create practical, individualised strategies that can be carried into the home, school, community and everyday environments. She also works collaboratively with families, support workers and the wider B2B team to help create greater consistency around each individual.

Meet Peta

Experienced Educator

Peta is a qualified teacher and one of the lead educators within our Learning School Program, bringing professional teaching knowledge and practical experience working with children into our small-group learning environment.

Peta helps guide the educational direction of the program, creating meaningful, age-appropriate learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, independence and confidence.

Our program incorporates Steiner-inspired learning, Montessori readiness principles and child-led exploration, allowing children to learn through hands-on experiences rather than placing pressure on them to achieve or develop at exactly the same pace as their peers.

Peta’s experience as an educator helps ensure activities have purpose while still allowing children the freedom to explore, play, create and discover.

Everything you need to get started!

Once your child is enrolled, you’ll receive a Welcome Pack via email with
everything you need to know before getting started. It’s our way of helping
families feel informed, prepared and excited for their first session.

On their initial trial session, a uniform is not required. If your family decides to continue after the trial and officially enrols in the Learning School, the Learning School uniform is compulsory and purchased separately. Parents must purchase the student T-shirt and hoodie as part of the required uniform. Wearing a parent uniform is optional.

The uniform is an important part of our program, helping children develop a
sense of belonging, independence and routine from a young age. Having their
own Learning School uniform helps them recognise their special learning day, creates consistency and encourages them to feel part of their little school community. It also helps create a positive transition from home into
a structured learning environment.

Each enrolled child will also receive their own personal scrapbook.
Their scrapbook will stay at the studio and become part of their weekly learning experience, with the final 10 minutes of each session dedicated to creating, reflecting and adding to their book as they grow throughout the term.

What is the B2B Learning School?

The B2B Learning School is a small, private learning program designed to give children consistency, structure and the opportunity to learn and grow alongside the same group of children.

Our approach incorporates Steiner-inspired learning, Montessori principles, child-led learning, creativity, practical life skills, social development and flexible learning.

Our vision extends beyond early learning. The program begins from 2.5 years old and is designed to evolve with the children through their early learning years and eventually progress into primary school years and primary school curriculum-based education and activities.

We want children to build their foundations with us and continue developing together as they grow.

What age is the Learning School for?

Our current early Learning School program is designed for children aged approximately 2.5 to 5 years old.

As the children grow and develop, our vision is for the program to progress with them into their primary school years, with the educational content, curriculum, expectations and learning hours developing accordingly.

Rather than children simply reaching five years old and finishing with us, the intention is to create a pathway that can continue evolving with them.

What happens when my child reaches primary school age?

Our long-term vision is for the Learning School to progress into a primary school curriculum-based program as the children become older.

The activities, educational expectations, curriculum and structure will naturally become more advanced as the children develop.

The length of the program will also increase. Younger children begin with shorter learning sessions, while older children will progressively move towards longer school-based learning hours as their concentration, development and educational requirements increase.

Specific future structures will be communicated to families as each stage of the program develops.

Will the Learning School hours increase as my child gets older?

Yes.

The current Learning School sessions are intentionally structured around the developmental needs of younger children.

As the children grow, the program itself will grow with them. Learning periods will become longer, educational content will become more advanced and the overall school program will progressively extend in hours.

This progression will occur according to the children’s ages, development, learning needs and the curriculum being delivered.

How many children are in each class?

There is a maximum of 6 permanently enrolled children per class.

We may also allow 1–2 children to attend a once-off trial which we will revise to see what availabilities we have to allow trail spots to take place.

These additional children are trial participants only. There will still only be a maximum of 6 permanent enrolment positions within each class.

Why do you keep permanent enrolments to six children?

Our small-class model is intentional.

It allows our educators to understand each child individually, provide greater support and build a consistent learning environment where the same children can develop together.

As the children grow and the curriculum becomes more advanced, this consistency also allows educators to build upon previous learning rather than continually starting again with an entirely new group.

What happens if all six permanent positions are filled?

Families may still be able to complete a trial where trial availability exists.

However, a trial does not guarantee permanent enrolment.

If all six permanent positions have been secured, your child may need to join another available class or wait until a permanent position becomes available.

Do we need to complete a trial before enrolling?

We generally recommend one paid trial session before permanent enrolment.

Trials are currently $37 per child and are not complimentary.

The trial gives your child an opportunity to experience the educators, environment, other children and learning activities before the family commits to ongoing enrolment.
