Back to Basics 4 Life Wellness Hub: Empowering every journey through understanding & support
Shadi De Bartolo is more than just a personal trainer – she’s a woman on a mission to change lives through movement, support, and community. Based in Melbourne’s North-Eastern suburbs, Shadi brings a deeply personal perspective to her work. Having battled with her own weight loss journey, and having supported her mother Tina through health struggles, Shadi understands the physical and mental work that comes with trying to take back your health.
Tina was once told by doctors that unless she lost weight, she wouldn’t have much time left. That moment changed everything. Together, Shadi and Tina committed to a new lifestyle – one grounded in fitness, determination, and love. Tina lost over 50 kilos, and Shadi discovered a passion for health that would define her ongoing mission.
Years later, after Tina’s sudden, unrelated passing in 2013, Shadi honoured her mum’s dream by naming her exclusive wellness hub after the business Tina had been preparing to launch: Back to Basics 4 Life Wellness Hub.
Today, Shadi carries that legacy forward with purpose. Through years of experience, she has seen too many people go unsupported (or worse, exploited) while on their wellness journeys. At Back to Basics, Shadi and her team are committed to offering real care with real results. They work with compassion and integrity, regardless of someone’s financial situation, always striving to help people learn to thrive.
With a deep commitment to care, integrity, and real results, Shadi continues to build a space where people feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow.
Tina’s dream was simple, yet powerful: To help people through hard times with understanding, love, and care.
She believed deeply in the idea that life’s challenges can become fuel for personal growth, and that no one should have to navigate their struggles alone.
Tina’s mission and spirit lives on in every session, every conversation, and every bit of support offered at Back to Basics. Her story is the foundation of everything Shadi has built – a studio that treats every person as family, keeps classes small and personal, and creates an environment where people can feel truly seen, supported, and uplifted, no matter their starting point.
Shadi’s commitment to this mission is unwavering. Whether you’re just starting out, returning after a break, or searching for something deeper than just “another gym,” you’ll find more than just fitness here – you’ll find a team that cares, a legacy of compassion, and a space you always feel welcome in.
